Reintroduced by hipsters, worn by actors, adopted by fashion designers, it is displayed everywhere and now appeals to both men!

Between the affirmation of virility and the expression of personality, it is carried in several forms, short or long, wild or totally controlled. If the 3-day beard is the one we know best, it remains the most classic.

Here is a brief overview of the most trendy beards currently available.

The three-day beard

The 3-day beard is probably the most popular beard style worn by men today. This is probably due to the fact that it is fairly easy to obtain, and moreover, two methods tend to clash: some men play the natural growth card (after a few days, the beard is totally shaved to let it grow back), while others opt instead for the "frozen" 3-day beard.

The short beard or 10-day beard

Since we know that it is one of women's favorite beards, for the manly, mature and protective look it gives to men, the short beard, called a 10-day beard, is increasingly adopted. More uniform than the 3-day beard, it allows you to appear less neglected: you immediately notice that it is a beard that is wanted and that did not just appear because you did not have enough time to shave! If it is aesthetically pleasing enough, it is because it gives the face a certain visual symmetry.

The full beard

The complete beard is a style that has just been brought up to date by the hipster community, which has reappropriated it while modernizing it. Now rather trendy, it is perfectly suited to men who want to combine clothing style and contemporary haircut. Among the so-called "classic" beards, it is the one that takes the longest to obtain: for a truly perfect complete beard, it can take several months.

The goatee (le bouc)

The goatee is actually a style of beard that completely surrounds the mouth, and is a mixture of a moustache and a goatee. This style has been around for decades, probably because it concerns areas of the face where hair grows relatively easily, starting in adolescence. And yes, some men (even when they are adults) do not manage to grow a full beard, especially on their cheeks, and that is not a shame! The goatee therefore easily retains some facial hair.

The barbiche

It is a small beard that is located just at the chin, whether on the chin itself or below. If it is sometimes accompanied by the fly (also called the patch, this place just below the lower lip where some beard hair grows), it can also be worn without it. The rest of the face is shaved, even the mustache.

The Ducktail

The Ducktail manages to mix the wild and the controlled. Close to the Nicolas II beard that was worn at the beginning of the last century, it has once again been brought up to date by the hipster community, which generally plays at forming beautiful and long wax moustaches. If the Ducktail doesn't ask for that much (besides, a beautiful Ducktail beard must form a uniform set, beard and moustache combined).

The anchor

The anchor is a style of beard that takes its name from its visual appearance: the moustache is accompanied by a large goatee, which rises to the jawbone, and the whole forms a kind of anchor around the mouth. Still as trendy today, it allows you to differentiate yourself and adopt an original style. Lately, actor Robert Downey Jr. has brought it up to date.
